I moved to Boslaan in Katwijk 5 months ago. Here at the highest floor of a 3 storey building, my boyfriend and I has been suffering most of the mornings as they live/mate on the roof. I start at 6:30 am everyday -if not earlier- thanks to one of the neighbors on the next detached houses, who feeds them around 7 am. Once I'm awake, I can't sleep anymore. They fly all over, shitting on the large balcony/garden connected to our bedroom. They shit at the entrance of the building, fly over my head crying out so loud that I can't go to bed anymore. The neighbor feeds them large pots of bread, etc that he leaves on the roof of the garden shed every morning, afternoon and evening. I'm writing this now on a Saturday because I have been awoke again just before 7 am and can't help it anymore. I don't want to get into trouble with anybody, but when somebody is troubling the neighbors so much, shouldn't the town hall do something about it? It is not only asking about removing the eggs/nest location next year, but also educating the neighbors to NOT feeding them actively. In the end, we ALL want to live in harmony, don't we?
